RendezViews never stops surprising us. When the massive, empty parking lot right in the middle of downtown transformed into a sprawling patio for the summer, we fell in love with its colourful murals. Then, the concept was made even better with the addition of food from neighbouring restaurant, Selva and executive chef Nuit Regular. Since then, the space has hosted a number of new outdoor festivals and markets.
Now, RendezViews has transformed once again. This season, WinterViews is part cottage retreat and part winter wonderland. Every Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., guests can glide along the eco-friendly synthetic rink. The largest Glice Eco Rink in Toronto is made without using any water or energy, and is operational in any weather. Bring your skates from home or use the complimentary ones (available as long as supplies last).
After your skate, cozy up in the communal Back Country Lodge for après vibes. Snack on campfire s'mores, poutine, BBQ wings and other bites from Selva while you sip seasonal serves like the Over the Top Apple Cider or Over the Top Hot Chocolate — both of which can be made boozy or non-alcoholic. There's also mulled wine, bar rail and tall cans, along with juice and pop for the kids. WinterViews is all-ages during the day and 19+ after 9 p.m.
For your own personal cottage retreat experience right in downtown, rent one of nine cabins for private dining and bottle service for up to eight people. Each cabin comes equipped with a bluetooth speaker, games, an outdoor fire pit, a gourmet food platter and drinks.
