Nothing beats sipping a glass of sparkling wine in the sunshine, especially when it's paired with good food and great company. Maybe it's because they're so easy to drink or because they make even the simplest moments feel special, but sparkling wines are having a moment right now — and we're here for it. Canadian sparkling wines are gaining momentum, offering exceptional quality at accessible prices, with sales projected to grow by 3.8 per cent over the next five years.*

With the backyards, picnics and cottage weekends calling this summer, we want to simplify the steps between us and relaxing outside with a glass in hand, and Canadian sparkling wines are ready to just chill and enjoy. And they aren't only for special occasions — we pop a bottle to celebrate everything from a gorgeous day to a smooth commute home after work.

Canadian sparkling wines are great on their own, but they're also perfect for using in simple, sparkling summer cocktails that will easily impress guests or elevate any moment. Since prepping all of the ingredients to make a complicated drink can take away from our precious little time to bask in this beautiful season, keeping a bottle of Canadian sparkling wine and just a few staples in the fridge can make all the difference between an afternoon spent toiling or enjoying.

Our momentum for shopping Canadian hasn't slowed, and there is a fantastic selection of sparkling wines made right here at home — including leading brands like Jackson-Triggs, Saintly and Sandbanks. Add in a few other key ingredients that you probably always have in your fridge, like pickles, maple syrup and jam, and you can whip up a summery sparkling cocktail to serve at any time, for any reason.

Jackson-Triggs, Saintly and Sandbanks sparkling wines can all be easily found at LCBO or Wine Rack, so you have twice as much opportunity to stock up your fridge and pour an easy cocktail, any time, just because. Try making the sparkling cocktail recipes below, or simply use them as inspiration for all your summer sipping.
