Inside the glamorous 2025 foodism ICON Awards at the Fairmont

After another banner year, Toronto’s culinary community has plenty to celebrate — and on November 25, we gathered to do exactly that. The annual foodism ICON Awards returned for its second year, this time taking over the storied Imperial Room at the Fairmont Royal York. Chefs, bartenders, industry leaders and food lovers all raised a glass to the superstars who make our city shine.

Guests were welcomed in style with a glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne before exploring a host of delicious activations. Ramsbury Estates was on deck with a cocktail station, shaking up creative pours with their sustainable gin — recently crowned Gin of the Year at the London Spirits Competition 2025. Meanwhile, whisky aficionados enjoyed a signature cocktail made with Highland Park.

Two Sisters Vineyards were pouring beautiful glasses of red and white wine, while Steam Whistle Brewing kept cold ones in hand.

For a touch of escapism, the St. Kitts area was designed to transport guests straight to the Caribbean. Here, guests had the chance to win a gift certificate from local jewellery brand Bluboho, along with the grand prize of a return trip to the island itself.

No foodism soirée is complete without delicious bites to match. The Fairmont’s own culinary team served elegant canapés, while San Pellegrino kept things lively with its signature sparkle.

Each guest got to take home a goodie bag stuffed with Läderach's best-selling FrischSchoggi chocolate bark, along with a gorgeous Ramsbury mixing spoon and sips from Steam Whistle Brewing and San Pellegrino.

And, of course, we revealed this year’s 10 ICON winners — special presenters announced them live as we raised a toast to the people shaping Toronto’s food, drink and hospitality culture today. A company with its own focus on championing inclusivity, DoorDash honoured our DEI ICON, while Fifth Element Group, the events company that kept the night running smoothly, handed out the Culinary ICON Award.

With champagne flowing, cocktails in hand and the Imperial Room buzzing, the 2025 ICON Awards was an evening as dynamic and delicious as the city it celebrates.
