Summer is shrinking in the rearview mirror, but there's a new golden glow in our purview — the shimmer of Trius Winery's world-class sparkling wines. Bright, crisp and refreshing, just like a perfect fall day, their latest expression begs a visit to the gorgeous Niagara-on-the-Lake winery in its own right, but the Michelin-recommended restaurant and the enthralling Trius Tour make the destination all the more worthy of a day trip.

Trius has a long-standing reputation as a leader in Canada's sparkling wine industry, and its newest release is no exception. Now, guests at the winery can sip on (or take home a bottle of) the new Méthode Cuvé Close, a fresh and elegant way to experience sauvignon blanc — with the irresistible sparkle of delicate bubbles. Made under the direction of newly appointed head winemaker Emma Garner, the expression opens an exciting new chapter in Trius Winery's legacy of sparkling wine making.

Cuvé close refers to the charmat method, where the second fermentation takes place in a sealed stainless steel tank rather than in individual bottles. It's crafted to highlight crisp citrus, with a refreshing finish and the fresh, fruit-forward style we adore in a quality prosecco. It's best served with a moment you want to bask in, whether that's a special occasion or simply a shared laugh on a sunny afternoon.

In every glass, you can taste Garner's refined approach to winemaking. After studying at Brock University, she honed her skills in some of the most respected wine regions in the world, from Australia and New Zealand to France and Germany. Since then, Garner has spent the last two decades playing a pivotal role in elevating Canadian wine, first in British Columbia and now in Niagara at the helm of Trius Winery, where she leverages her deep knowledge, distinguished palate and thoughtful leadership. Not only has she helped establish and grow the Trius traditional method program into the largest in the country, but she's also a champion for Ontario wine outside of the winery, pushing for the province's international recognition while mentoring the next generation of winemakers.

During a visit to Trius Winery, you can taste Garner's craftsmanship alongside the delicious flavours of the region's seasonal bounty at Niagara-on-the-Lake's only 2024 Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant. Trius Winery Restaurant is also FeastOn Certified, a guarantee of locally grown and sourced ingredients. Soak up the last rays of sunshine in the seasonal wine garden surrounded by sweeping views of the vineyard, or cozy into the comfort of the warm, inviting dining room and experience the deep connection between wine and food. Savour chef Frank Dodd’s local wine country cuisine in a tasting menu with wine pairings, or visit for a themed diner or a cooking class.

For an immersive wine tasting experience, discover the new sparkling vista on the Trius Tour. Lose yourself in a shimmering, golden world of enthralling art exhibits and unique locations around the property, including Canada’s largest underground sparkling wine cellar, all while sampling Trius sparkling wines and snapping envy-worthy pics for the gram.

Trius Winery is more than just a destination, it's the feeling of celebration from the inside out.
