Fall is always full of reasons to celebrate. Whether you’re just toasting to the fact that it’s de rigueur to wear baggy hoodies and sweatpants again, gathering with family and friends for a Thanksgiving feast or popping a bottle for an impromptu wine night with the neighbours, the season always gives us something to look forward to. We’re on the hunt for a sparkling wine that will pair perfectly with our fall special occasions — and we’ve found it in Segura Viudas Cava, a high-quality, award-winning sparkling wine from Spain's Penedès growing region.

Rooted in tradition, this refreshing, elegant and endlessly versatile bottle of bubbles will be the companion to your favourite small plates or comfort food classics that you never knew they needed. You’ve spent hours finessing your tapas recipes, so it’s only right that you choose a drink that elevates them to their full potential. Our favourite way to enjoy a glass of this liquid gold is with traditional or creative tapas; think crispy patatas bravas in spicy tomato sauce; heartwarming chorizo, cooked down in red wine; or perhaps alongside a heartier porcini mushroom risotto.
You’ll savour an exquisite burst of fine, delicate bubbles in every sip — each taste feels like a celebration. No matter what plates you pair it with, Segura Viudas Cava Brut is meant for sharing around a table, with your favourite company. While a glass might taste luxurious and sophisticated — it’s produced by one of Spain’s most prestigious cava houses, after all — this sparkling wine is affordable and accessible for all.
Cling to the final warm days of September by hosting a charming gathering with your friends on the patio, or head indoors for a laid-back get-together around some charcuterie with a glass of this delightful cava brut.

What should I pair it with?
While there are few limits to what this versatile cava will complement, prepared seafood like anchovies and clams, hearty plates of pasta, warm salads, soft cheeses or white fish stews are some of the tastiest ways to enjoy a bottle.
Where is it made?
The Penedès region lies between the coastal hills and the narrow plains of the Mediterranean coast. Here, the climate is ideal for the indigenous white varieties, xarello, macabeo and parellada.

What's the flavour profile?
The fruitiness and freshness of this sparkling wine comes from the meticulous care with which the cava house handles their grapes, and the predominance of macabeo in the blend. It offers a vibrant and fruity flavour profile with notes of citrus, green apple and hints of toasted almonds or biscuits; with lively acidity, fine bubbles and a dry finish.
How is it made?
Whole fruits are gently pressed to preserve their distinct character and protect against oxidation. The cava then rests on its lees for a minimum of 15 months, developing those coveted notes of brioche and yeast, all while maturing in complete darkness, 20 metres below ground.
