In Canada's ever-changing media landscape, maintaining a premium, free publication is no easy feat, which is why we're so grateful to be celebrating 10 years of foodism and our parent company Twenty Two Media Group. For the last decade, Toronto has turned to us for recommendations, inspiration and an inside look at the city's incredible food and drink scene. We tell the untold stories in our glossy print publication and award the best and brightest of the local hospitality scene with our annual foodism ICON Awards.
Earlier this month, we sat down with Twenty Two Media's founder and foodism publisher, Krista Faist to look back on a delicious decade of Toronto's premier food and drink publication.
Then, on October 27, we gathered with the amazing people who made it possible for us to achieve this incredible milestone. At The Carbon Bar, we held an intimate and exclusive dinner to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
Guests imbibed our signature cocktails: the Timeless Old Fashioned made with Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky and 10Tini featuring Finlandia Vodka. A selection of beautiful wine from Trius saw their Red VQA and Distinction Sauvignon Blanc VQA paired with dinner, while the Trius Brut VQA was perfect for toasting. Beer drinkers were treated to the crushable Muskoka Brewery Tread Lightly Lager.
Dinner offered guests a taste of The Carbon Bar's iconic dishes, from the Korean fried cauliflower to the gloriously meaty Pitmaster Platter, alongside other favourites like a smoked bacon caesar, hamachi crudo and blistered shishito peppers.
It was an unforgettable night where the food, drink and hospitality industry came together to celebrate foodism and share how much the publication means to them.
Thank you to everyone who made this amazing event possible, to all the people who came out to celebrate with us, and to each and every one of you who has supported us throughout the last decade. Cheers to 10 more years of Twenty Two Media and foodism.
